On July 26, Cityscape hosted the first nationally known EmpowHER Latina Expo in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, designed to connect the Latina community with vital resources and empower area families.
The event, led by Chicago-based Cesar Rolon, founder and lead producer of The Latina Expo and EmpowHER Latina Summit, brought together more than 50 local vendors and featured a dozen sessions and panels covering topics from healthy meals to launching a business.
“We believe in the power of visibility,” Rolon said. “Every business in our marketplace tells a story. And every woman who walks through our doors is a changemaker.”
The featured highlight of the event was the world premiere of the short film “The Power of Being a Woman,” a Spanish-language narrative that addresses the issue of domestic violence. Produced by Sagrario Ortiz Frias, the film was followed by a panel discussion which sparked powerful and emotional conversations around a topic often left unspoken in many communities.
During the summit, organizers announced that The Latina Expo is coming to Dallas in 2026 as a FIFA World Cup Edition, promising to amplify Latina voices and businesses during one of the most globally visible events ever to hit Texas.
