Kimberly Austin

Assistant Principal - East Grand Preparatory

Kimberly Austin was born and raised in Texas and is a proud military wife. This has allowed her the opportunity to teach in many areas to include Alaska. The ability to work with so many students and teachers has heightened her love for education.

After graduating highs school, Mrs. Austin quickly began college, attending Eastfield Community College. From there she moved to Denton, TX and pursued a career in education. Mrs. Austin received her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of North Texas and began teaching shortly after.

In 2013 Mrs. Austin started working for Reconciliation Academy, which later became East Grand Preparatory. She taught Kindergarten, 4th grade, and 5th -7th grade Social Studies and Writing. These were some of Mrs. Austin’s favorite years in her teaching career. While working at EGP she received MEd in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University and took a job in Richardson ISD as an instructional coach. This is where she spent the last 5 years. As an instructional coach, she began advancing her education further and took Principal’s certification classes from Lamar University.

2022 has brought Mrs. Austin back to EGP and she is very grateful to be back working with the staff and students here. She looks forward to meeting everyone and supporting all.
