
Fernando Rubio
Mr. Fernando Rubio serves as Principal of Buckner Preparatory, continuing the campus’s journey of academic excellence and student success.
Raised in West Dallas, Mr. Rubio is a proud product of Dallas public schools. He earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Austin College and brings a well-rounded background in education, having served as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and campus principal.
Most recently, Mr. Rubio led his campus as principal for five years, during which the school earned a Texas Education Agency “B” rating for the 2024–2025 school year. His leadership is rooted in high expectations, strong instructional practices, and a deep belief in the potential of every student.
Drawing from his own experience overcoming barriers, Mr. Rubio is passionate about inspiring students and ensuring they see themselves reflected in their school leadership. He is personally and professionally committed to placing 100% of students on a clear pathway to college and career readiness.
Mr. Rubio is honored to lead Buckner Preparatory and is excited to partner with students, families, and staff to advance equity and excellence through exemplary communication, collaboration, and celebration.
