
Celia Sanchez
Ms. Sanchez was born in El Paso, Texas and raised in Durango, México. Ms. Sanchez has served in education for the last 15 years.
She started her career as a Teacher Assistant in 2007 in Dallas ISD. She became an elementary bilingual teacher in 2009 in Irving ISD. In 2013 she started impacting education at a greater scale as an Assistant Principal back in Dallas. For the last 6 years she has been a proud Principal serving the Southeast community in Dallas ISD.
During her professional career, Ms. Sanchez received the Teacher Assistant of the Year, Teacher of the Year and Feeder Pattern Principal of the Year Awards. In her years as Principal, her campus was moved from F to B state accountability ratings, top 10 for student growth and received the PTO Outreach Organization of the Year and 1st Place in Robotics competition both at the district level.
Ms. Sanchez was also instrumental in initiating academic programs in her campus such as AVID, PK3 and Two-Way Dual Language, and community support programs like Brighter Bites and ESL classes for parents. She has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Durango MX, and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University.
Ms. Sanchez was recently selected to participate in the Leverage Leadership Institute with 24 other Principals around the globe after demonstrating leading her campus to a positive impact on student achievement by being in the top 10 for student growth.
Ms. Sanchez has a passion for reading motivational, pedagogical, leadership, financial education, and spiritual books, however, her favorite genre is poetry. She also enjoys traveling. She has traveled to Paris, Rome, Venice, and all over México. She is humbly grateful for joining the Cityscape Schools team and thrilled about getting to learn and grow from East Grand Preparatory community!
