Parents will be notified about their child’s teacher the week before school starts.
Yes. All students will have access to free breakfast and free lunch.
Teachers who are teaching in the at-home/virtual learning 2.0 program will assess (quiz, test, etc.) all students in a variety of ways. Our main objective is that students retain what is being taught and this will not be different in the virtual program.
Yes. Every student in grades Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 will receive a tablet. Every student through Kindergarten through 8 will receive either a tablet or a Chromebook.
Report cards will be passed out in a digital format, like last spring.
No. All dress code mandates have been waived (both at-home/virtual learning and face-to-face) for the first semester of school (September through January). However, students attending face-to-face instruction (on campus) may choose to wear the traditional dress code, if desired.

Yes. All Pre-Kindergarten students in the at-home/virtual learning model will receive tablets and teachers will be communicating regularly with the children.
Chromebooks and log-in information will be distributed the week before school starts (August 31 to September 4). There will be a schedule with assigned date and time for each grade level.
No, the number of students enrolled will remain the same.
There is no need for the student to be re-enrolled. They are already enrolled.
Potentially yes, we will offer online for as long as the pandemic restrictions are in place.
It is your choice (as a parent or guardian), but you will lose your child’s enrollment placement if you withdraw. Your child will then be placed on the wait list.
If your child does not attend at least 90 percent of at-home/virtual learning or face-to-face learning, they will be in violation of truancy laws of Texas.
Yes. Teachers will be providing in-person instruction online. Further, parents will not be required to teach their children, but offer support when needed.
Each situation will be handled on an individual basis, depending upon each situation. In some cases, it may only require removing children from a classroom and disinfecting the room. In other situations, the school may have to be closed for two days. If school is closed, every child will immediately begin online instruction (the next day). Regardless, Cityscape Schools will communicate if any teacher or student has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
This year, every student is eligible to have free breakfast and free lunch every day. Students at home will have to pick up meals on the grab-and-go line, similar to the summer program.
Yes. Alphabest will be available if the minimum number of students required are enrolled in the program.
Yes, as appropriate as possible. We will be following the IEP as closely as possible and continue to provide support as outlined.

Staff will answer a health questionnaire every day before going to school. Upon arrival to the campus, their temperature will be taken, as well. The CDC does not recommend the testing of every child and/or every employee for COVID-19.
We will do whatever is necessary to meet the needs of our students.
No. IT (tech) support will be available only during school hours. We have increased our tech support staff in anticipation of help requests.
Yes. Flu-like symptoms are similar to COVID-19 symptoms. Therefore, we must treat all symptoms as if they could be COVID-related.
No. Class size will be determined by the number of students receiving at-home/virtual 2.0 learning.

That will depend on whether there is an opening in your child’s grade level. If there is an opening in your child’s grade level, they will be enrolled immediately. If not, they will be placed on the waitlist.
Yes. They are absolutely the same.
That depends on whether your child is already enrolled in a Pre-K program. If the child is enrolled in a Pre-K program, withdrawing him or her would be a violation of the state truancy law. If your child has never been enrolled in a Pre-K program, it is not mandatory.
Yes. The school office is open from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
According to the Texas Education Agency, students will take the STAAR test this year. All Cityscape students will be taking the STAAR test this year.
Yes. Teachers will be available through ParentSquare to speak to parents as needed.
Yes. All students begin classes on September 8.
If your child has been in the Cityscape Schools dual language program, he or she will continue to receive dual language program services.
Yes. The supply list, according to grade level, is expected to be utilized whether enrolled in the at-home learning environment or face-to-face instruction.
Yes. While we hope that the district is able to return to face-to-face instruction for all students, we are prepared to offer the at-home/virtual learning 2.0 program for the entire academic school year, depending on guidance from the Texas Education Agency and the governor. Parents are still able to choose between face-to-face learning and at-home/virtual learning 2.0.

Yes. Students will be expected to log in at a certain time each day.
According to the latest remarks from the CDC, it is safe for children ages two and above to wear a mask during the school day.

Yes. There will be a formal schedule for all at-home/virtual learning 2.0 students.
There should be an adult figure (parent, caretaker, etc.) with the child for support. That person should assist the child with the log-in process.
The district has no authority to mandate a vaccine. We will leave that decision to the individual families to make.

Answer 52. No later than Meet the Teacher on September 3, 2020. The scheduled times are as follows:
Buckner Preparatory: from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
East Grand Preparatory:
Pre-Kindergarten (between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.)
Kindergarten – 5th grade (between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.)
Middle School (between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.)
Teachers will be sending out invitations to parents.
We are currently working on improving our existing air units. They have already been special serviced over the summer and we are currently speaking with experts about additional options we can take.
Parents will have access to recommended schedule for Pre-K 3 students and teachers will be in contact with both students and parents.
If you have older uniforms from another company, that is fine. It is the exact same uniform. However, from this point forward, we ask that parents contact our new provider, Levine’s, at the following number:
