EGP opens flag football season with shutout
East Grand Preparatory’s boys flag football team earned its first reported win of the season Sept. 16, shutting out KIPP Pleasant Grove 22-0 at Premier Park in Balch Springs.
The victory followed a challenging opening stretch for the Eagles. East Grand began the season Aug. 31 with a 20-12 loss at KIPP Pleasant Grove before falling 44-12 to St. Anthony School on Sept. 4 and 42-12 to Uplift Atlas on Sept. 9. Those three league-reported results gave East Grand 36 points scored through its first three recorded finals.
The Sept. 16 rematch with KIPP Pleasant Grove marked a sharp turnaround for East Grand, with the Eagles holding their opponent scoreless in the reported 22-0 victory.
East Grand is scheduled to continue its season at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, against St. Anthony School at Lincoln High School Field, 2826 Elsie Faye Heggins St. in Dallas. The Eagles then travel to Uplift Atlas for a 5:30 p.m. game Friday, Sept. 25.
The regular-season schedule continues with a home game against Uplift Luna at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 30 at Premier Park, followed by a 5:30 p.m. road game against Uplift Luna on Oct. 2.
