A Word from the Principal

Dear Parents, Families and Friends,
Dr. Aaliyah Miranda
It is with great pride and excitement that I introduce myself to you as the newly appointed Principal of East Grand Preparatory. My name is Dr. Aaliyah Miranda, and I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a commitment to education! I have been dedicated to the field of education for many years, both as a teacher and administrator. I started my teaching career in Dallas and Grand Prairie more than fifteen years ago. I am excited and eager to bring my skills as an educational leader to East Grand Preparatory and work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child's success.
As I begin my first school year as Principal of East Grand Preparatory, I am honored and deeply committed to making a positive difference in the lives of your children. We will accomplish this by setting high academic expectations for all children and providing supportive systems to assure they are met. By addressing school culture, setting high standards for teacher performance, increasing academic expectations for all students and engaging the community, it is our goal at East Grand Preparatory for all students to achieve academic success.
My passion for education and supporting the success of all students has been shaped over the past 15 years as an elementary teacher, and administrator. In each of my roles, I have sought to ensure the success of each student and the school, by providing the best instructional and extracurricular opportunities and supports possible. Similarly, it is my number one priority at EGP to ensure that every student receives an outstanding education from top-notch teachers, as well as supports that enable students to develop character, cultivate passions, and explore the world outside of the classroom. I am excited to see students engaged in learning that sparks their interests.
Most importantly, an excellent education is not possible without the great collaboration of students, parents, and staff. Over the past few weeks, I have had the privilege of getting to know some of the amazing students, parents, and staff at East Grand. One of the greatest takeaways from these conversations has been the immense pride for the school and community. It is through that same enthusiasm that I look forward to becoming an integral part of the East Grand Preparatory community. We embrace the challenges of the future while we continue to cherish and celebrate the successes of the past. Our remarkable staff involved parents and committed students come together to make East Grand Preparatory a wonderful and unique place.
Cityscape is committed to providing an environment for excellence in every school. We hope your visit to our website and social media sites, which will give you a quick snapshot of life at our school.
As part of my regular routine once school begins, you will find me out and about on campus during morning arrivals, afternoon dismissals, and throughout the day. I look forward to the opportunity to meet and begin my relationship with the students, staff, and families of the East Grand Preparatory community.
I hope you will stop by to introduce yourself as my door is always open to you. I am looking forward to working with you and your student as we work toward an academically successful school year.
Warmest Regards,

Aaliyah Miranda, Ed.D.
