East Dallas is where we grew up and made our home. We understand the need for an urban, community-centered school that teaches the knowledge, skills, and character traits necessary to thrive in school, college, and the competitive world beyond. And we believe your destiny is not limited by your zip code.
We work closely with parents to cultivate our student's strong thinking skills, self-discipline, and healthy relationships. Visit our campus and watch children making discoveries each and every day at East Grand Preparatory. In the classrooms. And in themselves. Discover the exciting future that awaits your family.
Why A Charter School?
Teaching...Did you know that Charter schools ARE public schools? That means that your family can choose them for your children instead of the usual government-managed public schools. Being an alternative public school means that Charter schools are free to your family – there is no charge whatsoever to enroll your children.
Charter schools operate with freedom from some of the regulations and red tape imposed upon district schools. But we are accountable for academic results and for upholding the promises made in our charter. Cityscape made the choice to focus on our local community, providing the personal attention that we often fail to see in DISD campuses.
Our world grows more interconnected every day. At Cityscape, we strive to develop young men and women who are prepared for this global connection.
We embrace the diversity of our community. Most of our teachers are fluent in both Spanish and English and emphasize this in their teaching. Starting in Pre-K, your child will be in a classroom where only their native language is spoken and taught. If your child is a native Spanish speaker, they will start with a firm foundation in their native language and then build an understanding of English. By the 3rd grade, all classes are being taught in English!
Our scholar's cultural competence will help them be better prepared for a multicultural, global future.
Two-Way Dual Language Program
This 2018-2019 school year, we began a two-way dual language program with our Kindergarten class. Parents now have the option to have their child learn half of the day in Spanish and half of the day in English. Even if your child is not a Spanish speaker she/he will be able to learn it! We are very excited about this opportunity and will continue to add a new grade level every year.
In a world which is more and more driven by technology, shouldn’t children learn with up-to-date technology? It is important that your child learns not only how to operate computers and access the Internet, but how to master these tools.
At Cityscape Schools even our youngest students have ready access to the latest technology. From Pre-K through 8th grade, all students have access to Google Chromebooks. Additional computer-enhanced learning is introduced at each new grade level, and by 9th grade, each student has full-time 1-to-1 access to their own Chromebook laptop.
Students who know how to positively utilize technology will ultimately be the ones who make our world a better place, and Cityscape Schools is proud to lead them safely and confidently through the advancing online world.
It's because our teachers and staff believe that that intelligence has nothing to do with your zip code, and every student can excel through college and beyond, Our mission is to install that confidence in every scholar that passes through our doors.
